CTT Privacy Policy/Terms of Use
Introduction
The Center for Technology & Training (CTT) is committed to protecting your privacy. The CTT has established this Privacy Policy as an overview of the manner in which we collect and use customer information and the efforts used to protect it.
Customer Information Use
The CTT doesn’t collect personal information from customers. The CTT does collect customer contact information for internal use only. Any payment information that is collected is done so via a secure connection on a dedicated computer connected only to Michigan Technological University’s payment processing service Touchnet. Touchnet’s End User Privacy Notice can be found at https://www.touchnet.com/end-user-privacy-notice. We will not sell, trade, or provide customer information to any third parties.
Third Parties
The CTT does not share customer information to any third party.
Confidentiality and Security
The CTT takes reasonable steps to ensure that your information is protected. The CTT Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is an industry standard that uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption when collecting and storing customer information. The CRM is only accessible to those within the organization that have a reasonable need to access the information to manage customer contact information, and to communicate with customers regarding CTT events, trainings, or software.
Compliance
This Privacy Policy complies with industry best practice guidelines and with California's Privacy Protection Act of 2004. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy please contact us by using the information provided below.
Communication Preferences
The CTT is in the process of using Mailchimp for mass email communications. Mailchimp is an industry standard email platform meant to streamline workflow and CTT-related communications while also providing customers with the ability to manage email preferences. Current CTT customers that have provided the CTT with contact information through event registration will be automatically added to email lists that coincide with events, topics, or software that they have expressed interest in or registered for. The CTT will use Mailchimp to provide customers event-related information including reference materials, links to training recordings, provide certificates of attendance (if applicable), and to keep customers informed of events they have registered for. In addition, the CTT will use Mailchimp to notify customers of upcoming events, deliver newsletters, software update notifications, and to keep customers informed of other CTT-related activities. Mailchimp does not share customer data with third parties. The Mailchimp Privacy Statement can be found at https://www.intuit.com/privacy/statement/.
